Focus on Features – The Future of Filmmaking in Ontario

Context: This study explores building and sustaining feature film production in the Canadian-owned, Ontario-based film industry. By delving into the career paths of established filmmakers, and the obstacles facing emerging filmmakers, the study attempts to lay the groundwork for establishing some potential practices for growing the next generation of successful filmmakers.

The research for this study was conducted in 2016 through interviews with key members in Ontario, a review of scholarly literature, and an online survey.
